COMMINUTION TECH

About

Company profile

Commtech will position itself to meet the demand for more efficient and cost effective ways to Ultra fine grind and De water or dehydrate materials in the Mining and Recycling sectors.

The technology is designed for Ultra fine grinding where traditionally expensive equipment such as ball mills, hammer mills, cone mills, jet mills are used and can deliver unadulterated fine particles with the benefit of drying in a single process.

Additionally the technology is positioned to beneficiate waste or zeros cost products into a viable source of income.

ABOUT
ABOUT
APPLICATION & INDUSTRIES

Comminution Technology uses sound waves (sonic comminution) and air pressure differentials to fracture and ultra-find grind materials to microns in an instant, without mechanical contact.   Additionally it dehydrates!

Inherent moisture reductions are achieved at ambient air temperatures without additional heat sources, the massive air pressures created by the machine force inherent moisture out of the products and into the airstream.  The technology will be a benefit in the mining sector for the beneficiation of low grade coals,  lignite’s, and waste  it can be used for the remediation of Coal waste and Fly ash  “zero cost products”  ready to be re utilised.

We see many opportunities across varying sectors of the mining industry and recycling industriesIron ore  -  Gold tailings  -  Mineral sands  -  Nickle tailings  -  Phosphate  - Lignite  -  Coal liquefaction and for the capture of Hydrogen from coal

Technology Applications

Materials that can be processed by the machine are as follows: Lignite, Coal, Nickel, Fly ash, Mineral sand, Ores, Mineral bearing rock, Glass, Limestone, Phosphate, Gold Tailings, and Hard plastics.

We expect additional products to exploit as Communition tech moves to market.  The technology performs the last stages of fine grinding with minimal contact, with the benefit that it can dehydrate inherent moistures in materials processed simultaneously, this results in substantially lower costs than traditional methods.

In many instances the cost of ultra-fine grinding and drying exceeds the value of the mineral being recovered, this is where Communition technology can make unviable operations viable thus profitable.

There are many billions of tonnes of low grade ores and waste products (tailings) that can be beneficiated by our process.

Power Generation

Lignite – Brown coal is used by majority of power stations around the world, it is a low grade product and in many cases contains high amounts of moisture 25% - 65% and is a difficult product to dry and grind using traditional methods. The conclusion is that majority of the product is moist and the energy used to dry it is lost and not converted to power.  Commtech can efficiently remove the moisture content from these products and coal waste fines improving their Calorific value by up to 200%, the processed material can be made into pellets, bricks, or blended as required.  The technology is perfectly positioned to beneficiate the billions of tonnes of wet coal fines that currently are considered waste with no commercial value.

Coal – Oil and Gas

The technology is well placed to be integrated into the Coal to Oil and Gasification industry, this will become a huge market in the future. With the ability to Ultra- fine grind and dry simultaneously providing ultra-fine dry coal particle ready to be processed into oils or gas. With the billions of tonnes of low grade lignite available worldwide the opportunity awaits.

Cement Additives from Waste

The industry is a massive consumer of energy and raw materials, the technology has the ability to remediate damp fly ash waste with our duel process of ultra-fine grinding and drying, certain fly ashes at <40mu are perfect additive or filler in the making of cement.  There are billions of tonnes of fly ash around the world in drying pond/ dumps, they are considered environmentally unfriendly and in many states in the US governments are ordering the remediation and removal of such waste piles.  Duke energy has 2.5 billion tonnes in storage, Duke has been ordered to remediate 100 million tonne of ash at 14 power stations at an estimated cost of 10 Billion US dollars, and the remediation cost is due to the majority of the ash being wet.

Glass Recycling

In many countries glass is still land filled, clean glass at < 40mu can be used as an additional cement additive and is used by cement companies in the process of creating some high performance cements. Communition technology can process clean waste glass more economically then current methods, into 40mu powder with a multi pass, at this level the market value of the product is $350+usd per tonne and can be used for a variety of applications in the cement and plastics industry
